By using Veribound, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Veribound ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
Veribound provides a construction payment verification platform that enables milestone-based payments backed by GPS-verified photo evidence. The Service includes project management tools, evidence collection, payment processing, and communication features.
3. User Accounts
Registration
You must register for an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
Account Types
The Service offers accounts for homeowners and contractors. Contractor accounts may require additional verification including license and insurance documentation.
4. Verification Requirements
The core function of Veribound is milestone verification. By using the Service:
- Contractors agree to submit GPS-tagged, timestamped photos as evidence of work completion
- Homeowners agree to review and respond to submissions within specified timeframes
- Both parties acknowledge that verification evidence becomes part of the permanent project record
5. Payment Terms
Escrow Services
Payments are held in escrow and released upon milestone approval. By funding a project, you authorize the release of funds according to the agreed milestone schedule.
Fees
Veribound charges a platform fee on each transaction. Current fees are displayed during project setup and may be updated with notice.
Disputes
If a milestone is disputed, funds remain in escrow until resolution. Veribound may facilitate mediation but is not responsible for resolving disputes between users.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading verification evidence
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent payment or verification processes
- Harass or abuse other users
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Veribound and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Photos and documents you upload remain your property, but you grant us a license to use them for providing the Service.
8. Limitation of Liability
Veribound is a verification and payment facilitation platform. We are not a party to construction contracts between users. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veribound shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
